I'd love it!

I've been crawling through it mot by mot. Of course for me, it's like crawling naked across a hot asphalt parking lot strewn with broken glass.

But when I first got this letter, I was terrified that Madame Sinclair herself was screaming at me.

I tiptoe through Europe so politely and respectfully, and my experiences have been uniformly wonderful.

Now suddenly I was convinced the wife of the next President of France wanted to have me murdered. I soiled myself.

(Many years ago, a friend of mine was declared Persona Non Grata and expelled forever from Spain. It was the proudest, most thrilling moment of his European adventures.)

There's a conspiracy theory that Sarkozy (now at a 30 percent voter approval rating) "set up" Strauss-Kahn to destroy him and his political career.

Yeah, I think Sarkozy DID set him up. Sarkozy gave the IMF job to Strauss-Kahn. Sarkozy and everybody else in the political establishment knew what DSK's "hobbies" were. So Sarkozy sent him to the USA and let him hang himself.

And yeah, suddenly the gauche end of France's political spectrum has just suffered a big loss.

Wikipedia says IMF officials enjoy a kind of diplomatic immunity -- but I think it only covers parking tickets, not sexual assault and sodomy.

Merci pour any help you can offer! And how are the Suisse newspapers and TV covering this wonderfully entertaining story?Vleeptron Dudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01913822255924924435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30829516.post-20294035103765910652011-05-17T23:34:15.208-04:002011-05-17T23:34:15.208-04:00No, not the genuine article, just weird poetry.
W...No, not the genuine article, just weird poetry.

Well, looks like someone from an experimental art and poetry blog or magazine in Roubaix, France left you a message. Why they are quote mining and collecting blogs I have not found out yet. I do know that they are on the left spectrum and in terms of politics the left in France has not been happy with Sarkozy and that recent arrest might be a blow to the left's election agenda. Why they are so keen on collecting blogs (watch the video on their site) I have yet to find out.

(sorry if this is unclear, I just got out of bed and need some nicotine, coffee and rock and roll first to get me going but I promised Bob to translate this but forgot because I was too tired last night and went straight to bed)patfromchnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30829516.post-21188270639700999042011-05-17T13:33:12.002-04:002011-05-17T13:33:12.002-04:00... and if there's anything you'd like to ...... and if there's anything you'd like to scream at me in private, my e-mail addie is up there somewhere with my blog profile. Don't make me ask my Schweizerdeutsch buddy, or one of those verkakte Translator Robots.

As the Irish say: I'm sorry for your troubles.

Sincerely.

And I am the last ferocious American champion of the Presumption of Innocence.

So I have said nothing to suggest any knowledge of any criminal guilt. I have no such knowledge at this stage of things.

(It's my dim understanding of the Napoleonic system in France that the burden rests with the accused to prove his/her innocence.)

But I'm an old newspaper reporter and editor.

Was I supposed to ignore this mess? Has Agence-Vleeptron Presse (A-VP) done something unique nobody else in the World Blogosphere did?

My wife just spent 20 minutes getting all the details from al-Jazeera English TV, for heaven's sake. msnbc's "Morning Joe" practically devoted all of yesterday's show to this story; ditto the BBC.

Look, also for what it's worth, I wish you and M Strauss-Kahn as smooth a ride as possible through this mess.

You know the USA as well as I do, so I'm not trying to brag, but we're one of the few places on the planet where a criminal defendant stands a chance of defending himself, and walking out of the courtroom to freedom.

If you've sent me some kind of demand to remove your Deux ou trois post from VleeptronZ, SVP say it again in English, and I will do my best to comply with your wishes.
http://www.lejournaldepersonne.com/2011/05/ask-anne-strauss-kahn/lejournaldepersonnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16017502889867633796noreply@blogger.com
