WHOA !!! Not the biggest ...YOU SAW JANIS JOPLIN ??? WHOA !!! Not the biggest Joplin fan but green with envy anyway. Did you get to see Hendrix also during that time ? That would be too flaming sweet !! (cause I am currently in Hendrix mode)

Since I was a teenager in the 80s I do remember Hanoi Rocks, to me they had more the feel of a punk band than hair metal. I seem to emember that these guys had massive drug problems, including heroin but I guess I need to read the wiki article. Hell, I haven't thought about this band in ages since I wasn't into Hanoi Rocks, at the time other music was more important to me. HR were probably a bit too early on the scene, later shite bands like Guns and Roses stole image and attitude and made millions. But that's how it goes I guess.

Finnish music is quite weird, lots of fun. Let me give you an example, one out of many. There is a musical style called humppa, Sounds a bit like tango and polka but speeded up, fuelled with lots of vodka and irony, very popular in Finnland. Here is a clip from a band called The Pensioners doin' Kraftwerk in humppa style and finnish lyrics. If you like this polka stuff you will LOVE this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrvAUTsMd_spatfromchnoreply@blogger.com
