Don't know much about God, but everybody says God can never die.

Those of us with ears and hearts must settle for 2nd Prize, which are the wonderful recordings.

dairy farmers play Bach to the cows. My vascular surgeon told me to counteract depression with Mozart.

I love GG's Mozart -- I bought the Sonatas in vinyl -- more than the Bach, more than anything.

But try the Gibbons and Byrd.

and now i have a confession: I am addicted to the cheesiest cop show ever, the new version of Hawaii 5-0. It's cheesier than the original, which was the cheesiest cop show ever.

Book 'im, Danno!
Vleeptron Dudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01913822255924924435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30829516.post-14117184028870666802012-10-22T08:51:10.039-04:002012-10-22T08:51:10.039-04:00Gould is God. Time to debunk some of the haigiography. I do agree that benzies had an effect on his playing and choice of repertoire but
unfortunetly this article will not help. GG-bashing is still popular I see. I accuse the writer of being biased for not having properly studied the subject
The claim that the low chair and all that deprived him of playing romantic music is nonsense since GG was not interested in romantic repertoire at all. It is therefore unfair to compare him to Pogorelich, mainly because GG was not in need of winning over listeners. He did his thing and basically didn’t care. Of course he would have bigger audiences had he recorded that romantic schmus. But he didn’t because he had his own agenda. I prefer that to, say, Lang Lang. Once you realize that you don't have to please everybody all the time workign as a musician gives you more freedompatfromchnoreply@blogger.com
