Pakistan bans YouTube and TV news channel Aaj

Somebody once asked me why I thought PK and its politics were so interesting ... okay, I was wrong, PK and its politics are boring. Yawn.

I'd run an image of banned Bolta Pakistan TV news host
Nusrat Javed, but all the images I can find are of videos, not still photos, and I still don't know how to post videos.

A statement issued to customers by Micronet Broadband, one of
Pakistan's leading internet service providers said, 'Pakistan

Also, Pak bans new[s]channel Aaj TV..
Pakistani authorities on Friday took the Aaj TV news channel off cable networks after it aired a show by an anchor that had been blacklisted by the military regime.
Aaj went off the air as it was beaming the programme Bolta Pakistan ["Talking Pakistan"] hosted by Nusrat Javed. Authorities had briefly ordered Aaj off cable networks on February 6 when Javed had appeared on another show.

well, this is the part of Ahmadinejad's public international rhetoric which *truly* scares the shit out of the US government. Ahmadinejad says, "World War 2 and the European and Western colonial era ended 50 years ago. When are they going to stop treating Asia and Africa as if we were still bound to obey their every political and economic whim? When will the world truly move beyond the colonial era?"

Uhhh ... well ... if I were Bush or Eisenhower or Thatcher or Reagan ... would I bend over backwards to end a system which was so rewarding and so beneficial to the West for centuries? Would I rush to treat these former colonies as true sovereign equals, deserving of respect even during differences and conflicts?

Iran just blew up in revolt and defiance at its colonial history and corrupt West-sponsored leadership when they got rid of the Shah (and his US-trained Savak secret police -- check out my link to "Friendly Dictators" trading cards).

Pakistan ... it sure seems to me, in ignorance from afar, that they're still playing ball with the Western superpowers, the Western wealth centers, and the former colonial powers. Don't ask me why, you must be a far better authority on that than I could ever hope to be.

ANY INSIGHT YOU MIGHT be willing and able to offer this ignorant planet would be DEEPLY appreciated.

But look ... it's hard to say goodbye to your old colonies. Breaking up is hard to do.
