For the life of me this image looks like the promo shots they had for soap operas like Dallas or Dinasty (back here they called Dinasty “The Denver-Clan”) wayback in the 80s...........

But bloody hell do I wish this was just a soap opera.....

The punchline does pre-date the movie by a few years. Gilbert Gottfired's improvised performance at the Hugh Hefner roast on Comedy Central was the best part of the entire show and, IMHO, the only memorable thing about it. The irony is that he only launched into it because the audience didn't like a 9/11 joke he told. Comedy gold.
