A new LENi owner is checking all over his house for natural radiation, reports that his toilet bowl gives a reading.
Interesting, natural clay I suppose, having U[ranium] or Th[orium] or K-40 [a radioactive isotope of Potassium] in it.
Some time ago we all checked our soup bowls and coffee cups, now on to "bigger" targets. If one of our "receptacle, waste, human type" as they might say in the army gives enough of a reading, I will then attempt a spectrum scan.

Real Fiestaware red is that colour because of a certain clay used in the manufacture. It is quite radioactive, the red is from naturally occuring uranium.
Oh yeah, my Basement & Garage Radiation Guys are always nattering on about Fiesta Ware, it's Hot Hot Hot! But this Hot Toilet thing, this is new. I advise never sitting on a toilet again.
On the other hand, if you get prostate cancer, they were gonna zap you with radiation anyway. Maybe a daily dose of radiation before you get it keeps the doctor away.
