(joke may continue with this line)
Ah, bloody hell, I thought it was Steve Reich...
I've always loved this joke. Usually more than I love Philip Glass.
I don't get it.

Paul, Philip Glass is an american composer. His style has often been categorized as "minimal", very reduced, often repetitive. Some of his works include the opera "Einstein on the Beach", the soundtrack to Dracula and Kojanisquatsi and other stuff. Other composers in that category include Steve Reich, Terry Riley and Alvin Lucier. This new breed of composers have influenced modern music from serious classical music to film soundtracks to techno and electronica artists who use the same techniques as Glass. Just let me know if you want to know more. And don't ask Bob about John Cage, otherwise I fear he will have a fit and write a neverending rant...

Edit: I forgot youtube. Kick back with a few beers & check this movie out, score by Philip Glass, full version available on DVD

Based on past experiences, ordinaeily I would gripe and complain about posts from "Buy Viagra," but I got to say:
1. You are clearly NOT a robot (i.e., you are definitely a Human Being), and
2. You seem to authentically enjoy reading VleeptronZ. So ...
Hi, Buy Viagra, welcome to Planet Vleeptron!
Okay, about the knock-knock joke.
I admit it's a little obscure and rarified. Not everybody will "get" it.
See Patfromch's comments. Patfromch is extremely musical. He knows about EVERYBODY who ever claimed to be a musician.
20th century Minimalist avant-garde music is ... well ... some people just flat-out deny that it's music at all, and think all musical minimalists should be forced to work in gas stations or Dunkin Donut shops to justify their existence in the human community.
Philip Glass is one of the worst. Amazingly, he manages to make a pretty good living writing the kind of minimalist crap that he writes and performs.
Glass's "breakthrough" composition is the musical score for the movie "Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance" (1982), so if you want a blast of Philip Glass music in your years, you can rent and watch and listen to "Koyaanisqutsi."
After that, you'll understand my knock-knock joke.
Please keep reading Vleeptron, but listen, Viagra Dude -- to fully appreciate Vleeptron, you have to be VERY HIP about music, movies, theater, literature, visual art, sex, drugs, astrophysics, and rock & roll. And lots of other stuph.
btw ... who are you, where are you, what are you? And most important ...
Does Viagra really work? Is it better than Cialis? And if Viagra gives me an erection that last more than 4 hours, do I really have to go to the emergency room? Can't I just phone a bunch of old girl friends?
