SUSI, who used to be every Brazilian little girl's favorite doll. (See previous post: Killer Doll from America.) Top: Susi Axé. Axé (pronounced ah-SHAY) is a popular Carnival music style from Salvador Bahia. Below: Susi Hora da Ballada, or Susi Song Time.
Susi is manufactured by the Brazilian company Estrela. Compared to Mattel's Barbie, Susi has a definite curvy shape south of the navel. But in recent years, the skinnier Barbie has taken over as the favorite doll of Brazilian girls.
