PizzaQ mosaic winner! Thousands of assholes! Thousands of assholes!

This image is a mosaic composed of 1200 small photographic similar elements. What are the elements? 4 Slices with endives, garlic, shallots.

***********

Okay, the graphic was created by artofresistance.org , who also have a nifty mosaic of Rush Limbaugh composed entirely of powerfully addictive painkiller pills which are controlled substances.

Okay, no pizza for ryanshaunkelly. You're not even trying, guy.

Mike wins the Pizza!

Hahahahaha, for 4 slices of pizza, I made him say: "assholes."

This presidential campaign and the War in Iraq are infecting me with Tourette's Syndrome.

I'm not a Baptist, I'm not a Libertarian, I'm certainly not a Republican -- Ron Paul is certainly from a Different Planet from me. But as I read this Chi Tribune profile about him -- I think when I got to the part about his refusal to take a cent of his $$$$$$$$$ Congressional pension -- I realized I was learning about a presidential candidate who's actually an HONEST guy, who's not in politics to see how rich he can get off the public trough or how many free golf and ski vacations he can get by selling his access to lobbyists.

Imagine -- there's a guy you could vote for for president who's not reeking of corruption, or slippery, evasive non-answers.

And if Ron Paul ever gets defeated for his seat in Congress, does he care? Hell, no, he's an obstetrician, he doesn't need that job to make a living. He actually has valuable skills and KNOWS real-world stuff.

Anyway, the more I thought about almost every one of "the serious candidates," one of whom we'll end up stuck with for the next 4 or 8 years, the angrier I got. So I was looking for an illustration for the Ron Paul post, something that would reflect this era of American politics and public life, and all I could think of was the word "asshole."

Most of what the Google image search returned was rather predictably pornographic. I glory in the No Rules (or Rules Lite) nature of Vleeptron, but I'm actually a bit prissy and puritanical.

(I still have to chat with Mike about my feelings about legalized gambling. The whole subject is one of those Devil-Angel ear-screaming cartoon fights in my Puritan-vs.-Libertine personality. Each day, Schizo Bob can wake up to find himself either John Calvin banning all fun and pleasure, or Timothy Leary running nekkid thru the streets on LSD.)

But then I saw the portrait of Bush and clicked it large, wondering what, exactly, that had to do with "asshole."

What's that word? Objectification? An over-obsessive focus on a particular body part? This mosaic artist clearly had a very obsessive statement to make about Our President.

So amazingly, I found an image of 1200 assholes which wasn't in the least pornographic, and which certainly captured my feelings about the contrast between Ron Paul and the current resident of the White House. Not an easy trick.

I sent an e-mail to the Chicago Tribune reporter thanking her for the Ron Paul story. (Actually she's the Trib's New York Bureau Chief -- astonishingly, somewhere in this Wicked World, Virtue & Excellence are rewarded!)

But in my e-mail, I said:

"To be brutally honest, [Ron Paul is] practically the only candidate I'd trust to babysit my daughter for an hour."

(Ain't got no daughter, but you get the idea.)

So, I do not really consider it may have success.
