Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen ... on their bus, the destination says: OZONE

artist: Rick Griffin
Big Brother & the Holding Company
(w Janis Joplin) also played.
PizzaQ!!! What YEAR was this concert?
2 slices w double anchovies

old kentucky hills of tennessee
(lyrics from memory)

by Commander Cody

(former high school teacher George Frayne
from the most excellent town
whose police fine you $50
for smoking marijuana
but don't take you to jail
or give you an arrest record
in the USA state which is
shaped like the palm of the right hand)

& His Lost Planet Airmen

2:4, slow Texas Swing ballad
with fiddle (maybe Andy Stein)
and Hawaiian pedal steel guitar
and lots of LSD

take me back to those
old kentucky hills of tennessee
where the mockingbird is singing
high up in the laurel tree
let your alabama moon
shine her light on me
way back in those
old kentucky hills of tennessee

My daddy was a rounder
He wore a rounders hat and coat
He used to play a banjo
But he couldn't play a note

My mama used to tell me
With a smile upon her face
If you want a second helping son
Well you'll have to say more grace

i was only seventeen
when i took out on the bum
with only sixteen dollars
a suitcase
and a gun

well now i am a rich man
but there's one thing i know
the place that i long most to be
is the place where i can't go

well now i am a rich man
and the place i long to be
is back in those
old kentucky hills of tennessee

~ ~ ~

Logically & geographically,
this song is something like:

take me back to that desert
they call the old gobi
where the alligators polka
in the glaciers of west muncie
let your lichtensteiner moon
shine her light on me
way back in that desert
they call the old gobi

HEY! These lyrics were from MEMORY! And I'm OLD! And I took a lot of ACID in those days!

I have Alzheimer's! And he has Mine!

(apologies for how old that joke is.)

But THANKS!!!!

This is one of the craziest songs I ever heard, or sang in the shower. It sounds like Corny Shitkicker Redneck Country.

But it could only have been written by either a Symbolic Logic professor, or by a guy who only had one book to read on a desert island: "The Annotated Alice," which explains all the jokes and weird crap in Lewis Carroll.

Oboy I got to take a shower in an hour! Now I know what to sing!

Kindly leave another Comment and tell Vleeptron all about your relationship with Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen!!!

I think most of the people from my generation think of those days when our cities were not that polluted as they are currently.
