I assume this is the restored print of Peckinpah's original release, before the studio hacked the crap out of it. It very likely will be projected in the very rare 70mm format.
Pauline Kael called TWB the greatest film of the sound/color era. It certainly has the most remarkable cast of both American and Mexican actors at their most mature, powerful and brilliant.
"The Bridge on the River Kwai," perhaps Holden's greatest role, will be shown at the Walter Reade
