"The Wild Bunch," "Bridge on the River Kwai," big screen theater showings in NYC

Sam Peckinpah's 1969 movie "The Wild Bunch" will be showing at The Walter Reade Theater, Lincoln Center, New York City as part of the Film Society's William Holden series. Showtimes:

Friday 11 July 2008 3:30 and 8:45 pm

Tuesday 15 July 2008 1 pm

I assume this is the restored print of Peckinpah's original release, before the studio hacked the crap out of it. It very likely will be projected in the very rare 70mm format.

Pauline Kael called TWB the greatest film of the sound/color era. It certainly has the most remarkable cast of both American and Mexican actors at their most mature, powerful and brilliant.
